Rippa Dee Ripz aka Rippa Mc is an established Drum n Bass MC who has dominated the Oxford scene with his crowd pleasing vocals. He first discovered DnB at the age of 13 and grew up listening to the likes of Hysteria, One Nation & Dreamscape …. At 15, he was regularly getting sets at Free-parties across the country performing as part of ‘After Dark Kru’.Rippa quickly became a resident MC at several well-known DnB events in his home town of Oxford. Following on from this, he earned a regular slot on one of the leading UK’s DnB Pirate stations, UK’s Finest 87.5FM, which allowed him to branch out and get recognized in the surrounding counties.
Rippa was then approached to feature on DJ Fu’s Free Range Show on 107.9 Passion Fm, OX4 FM, Phatbeats, Origin95.1fm, DnB Heaven, Krisis DnB, Defiant Radio and Force Fm. For the last 5 years, hes has been regularly getting sets playing at various clubs around the country, such as ’ The Coven, Park End, The Opera House, Leisure Blaza, OFS, The Pheonix, Liquid Lounge and The Regal…. and is a resident at ongoing DnB nights such as ‘ Breakfreekz, Kinetic, Shockin vybz, Reload, Selecta, Rinseout, and Stickies.
RippaDeeRipz has supported many A-listers on his travels around the south of the uk, playing along side some of the biggest Dj acts in Drum&Bass such as Chase n Status, Friction, Brockie, Zinc, Kenny Ken, Twisted Individual, Mampi Swift, Brookes Brothers and NickyBlackmarket just to name a few aswel as Mc’s of the likes of Fearless, IC3, Harry Shotta, Shabba, Moose and Det. Rippa has be known to have a great interaction with the crowd when preforming, he comes across as very versitile mc/rapper who can adapt to pretty much any genre of music when handed a microphone. Rippa has been tipped to be definatally the one to watch out for in the future of drum and bass, which is totally understandable as Rippa brings his own unique style and flow, with a twist of humorous bars which tend to be very catchy.
Rippa was first associated with Dope Ammo in late 2010, when he was asked to feature on the Dope Ammo Launch Night, From this point on he has represented CoCo in many aspects, In the last year Ripz has become a key member to Dope Ammo Records in helping promote, sales, bookings and promotion for the lable and by doing this hes was given the right to run the current dopeammo.com website with all the lastest info, news, tunes, and everything else which will be forth comming from the DA camp. Rippa also has a few things in the pipeline hes working on in the DA camp which is soon to take off and hit the scene massively.
2012 has already been a good year for Rippa so far, he has started to take bookings abroad touching down in Stockholm where he has gained him self residency for the biggest Drum&Bass Promoters in Sweden at Vision Fruit and Traffic Drum&Bass. This has only inspired Rippa even more to push his name in the U.K as a artist where he had recently entered for the Random Concept Global Energy Mc competition for 2012. Ripz was selcted out from over 500+ other mcs entries to make the final 5 Mc’s where he was then invited down to Newquay for the Random Concept Global Energy WeekEnder Finals, In the Competition Rippa was then judged in a one 10 minute set in front of a panel of judges who was the likes of GARRY K, MC PRESHA, DJ PROFILE and MC IC3 he then progressed into the last 2 Mc’s where he had to battle in the last 10 minute finals showdown. Rippa came out on top with all 4 judges agreeing to him being the best up and commer in 2012 and winner of the competition which gains him a years residency being signed to the Random Concept Team as a main room artist at every Random Concept event. (Ic3 had added that he new rippa would win from the off just from his clear vocals and very unique own style that caught his ear from the start of the comp and said this is the guy to beat which was also agree by the other judges)
So watch out for this guy RippaDeeRipz. he has big ambitions for his jurney ahead..
